Our guide, Carlos, was amazing and gave us samples of various plants in the rain forest for us to taste. Then he told us about their origin and their medicinal purposes. We tried plants that treated Malaria, saw cocoa plants, avocado plants (not in season- bummer) and tasted nuts that were like mini coconuts and are used to make cooking oil. Last but not least we ate termites!

“”It’s normal to have this much movement in a plane of this size.” Physics Partner (who will be referred to as P.P.) yelled at me over the loud motor in the 12 passenger plane (including a person squeezed in next to the pilot.) The view took my breath away but I couldn’t shake the feeling in my stomach. It wasn’t so much that we were whisked into the air in a vessel filled with tourist sardines it was more of a feeling of being hungry for some local eats.

New Restaurant Landmark Americana Coming to West Chester
February 20th, 2007 No Comments
Did you spend last summer wondering, like us, what that new building on the corner of Gay Street and Darlington Street was going to be? After months of waiting, we were finally given a sign - literally. A poster on the street-level window was tacked up, giving us all the square footage information that we wanted to know. -

The restaurant formerly known as Turk’s Head Inn has come to a close. After years of earning a reputation for a great fine dining experience and exciting nightspot, 15 S. High Street has shut it’s doors and is preparing itself to house a new experience - the coming-soon-to-us Barnaby’s of West Chester. It’s sad to see such a well-loved West Chester restaurant fade away, and we hope that Barnaby’s knows it has some big shoes to fill. -
As I scanned the sea of self-absorbed New Yorkers, I noticed a gentleman sitting at the table to my left. He was dining alone and sat facing me. He appeared content perusing the menu in solitude but I felt compelled to talk to him while my date was in the restroom. I locked eyes with him and whispered, “Excuse me. I just wanted you to know… sometimes, I prefer to eat breakfast alone too. I think it’s nice. I appreciate that you like it as well.” He smiled and then told me a few secrets of his own… including the recipe for the world’s most perfect brunch dish.
