Tis the season for fresh produce! But what happens when you are faced with two bunches of asparagus; one labeled “USDA CERTIFIED ORGANIC” and the other “LOCALLY GROWN.” This is when we scratch our wcdish head and wonder which is better; buying organic or buying local? After a little research here is what we found… -
I have been anxiously counting down the days until one of my most favorite activities in West Chester. And as of today that magic number is SEVEN. Only seven more days until the West Chester Grower’s Market opens. Next Saturday, May 5th from 9:00am to 1:00pm the parking lot at North Church and West Chestnut Streets downtown comes alive with local vendors selling fresh produce, cheeses, canned goods, flowers, meats, natural soaps and baked goods. -

Starbucks will open its first shop in the heart of West Chester this coming fall. Their closest location until then is inconveniently on Route 3, about a five minute drive away. I have a crush on peanut butter eggs. Any brand, any size, any type. I love em. It is the best when, in the beginning of March prime real estate by the cash registers of gas stations and grocery stores fill up with various egg shaped bits of sweetness filled with coconut, vanilla cream and peanut butter. I hold off each year in anticipation of Easter Sunday. (Yes, this 26-year-old will forever hope to have a basket filled with goodies on Easter morning… even if it comes to making it myself.) -
The West Chester chapter of the Lions Club International is holding a Pancake Breakfast Saturday, April 21st from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm. The event will be held at the West Chester Senior Center (530 E. Union Street) and suggested donations are $5 for adults and $3.50 for kids up to 12 years of age. The Lions Club is a young, but quite large, service club that has been giving back to the West Chester area since
1925 - so pile a stack of flapjacks on a plate, fork over some dough and help our local chapter out!West Chester Lions Club

Do you dread the long hours of Easter? Rising early, hiding eggs, making baskets, taking bites out of carrots - it’s all in the parental guidebook, but it’s sure to tire you out. This year, instead of adding to your holiday chores, why don’t you let someone else help out? By someone else, I really mean one of West Chester’s great Sunday Brunches . . . there are some places in town that you don’t want to miss!
