Half my family lives in England, where tipping a waiter or bartender is rare, so when they come over to the US for holiday or business it can make for an awkward scene at a restaurant.
Recently my cousin Andrew was in NYC where a bartender gave him less then stellar service. Now Andrew is a big time finance guy whose traveled to the US many times, so he’s familiar with the custom of tipping. Naturally he concluded that if good service equals a 15% tip then terrible service doesn’t get squat. Now, in the logical land of the UK that would be exactly right but he was in the US where the public is guilted to compensate for the below-minimum-wage …

I almost blinded my friend today as I attempted to squeeze lemon into my Diet Coke at Market Street Grille. My friend, who luckily regained his eyesight, gently reminded me that I should probably cover the lemon with my hand next time… -
Admit it, you really want an iPhone (almost as much as Mary wants ice cream), but like me there’s no way you can afford one. Check this out: Viddler.com is running an awesome video contest this month called MealToday. If you post a video in the MealToday group telling about (and hopefully showing) your best meal of the day, you are entered for a chance to win an iPhone or an HD Camcorder! It’s really easy to enter, since you can record your video with your computer’s webcam.
