West Chester, Pa - January, 2008 - Gilmore’s, an eleven table BYOB in downtown West Chester has been the target of several anti foie gras protests. With the Philadelphia Animal Rights Meet Up Group announcing a “Day for Ducks” on Saturday February 2nd at 6pm, Peter Gilmore refuses to back down.
“I refuse to allow anyone to tell me what I can and cannot serve to my guests” says Gilmore. He adds, “We serve foie gras because our customers ask for it. If you like sweet n’ savory pickles, Decadent Dill “We’re in a Pickle” pickles will be the best you will ever have. On February 12, 2007, 2 days before Valentine’s Day, a dear friend, Megan Bates (21), was killed in a car accident involving a drunk driver in West Chester. To honor Megan and her love and zest for life, the Riverstone Café, along with her family, are holding an event to raise funds for Mommy’s Light. This event, Hearts for Megan, will be held at the Riverstone Café, located at Routes 30 & 100 in Exton PA.

I’ve been invited to attend this year’s Wing Bowl on February 1 in Philly. I’ve been warned that it’s “like the craziest frat party you’ve ever been to.” But if it has to do with food… I’ll be there.
In doing research for the event I came across this link showing video clips of potential “wingettes” (huh?) and crazy food challenges like eating (man vs. dog eating 5lbs of hamburger).
