An Evening at Teikoku with Wine on the Deck

Teikoku restaurant invites you to join us for an evening of wine on the deck with wine educator and former sommelier, Matthew Esser of Shiffrin Selections and wine educator and consultant, Heather Wright of Cellar Door Imports and Executive Chef, Takao Iinuma.

Thursday July 3, 2008 from 5:30 P.M. TO 7:30 P.M.

Sushi- Fresh, delicate and succulent salmon, hamachi and bass served with the traditional accouterments.

Recommended pairing- 2007 Finca la Linda Torrontes, Cafayate Salta, Argentina
Clear yellow-greenish color, floral aromas, and excellent balance between floral and fruity

Tuna Bruschetta- Soy glazed, toasted tortilla with sashimi grade tuna topped with tomato bruschetta and finished with dill aioli.

Recommended pairing
- NV Dr. Konstantin Frank, Salmon Run Riesling, Keuka Lake, New York

Steely acidic backbone, floral elements and pear/apple notes

Grilled lamb chops- Grilled New Zealand lamb with a Tahitian vanilla bean infuse balsamic glaze

Recommended pairing
- Mar y Tierra, Carmenére Curico Valley, Chile

Brilliant red in color, with aromas of black fruits and spiced notes.

Gratin spicy mussels- New Zealand green lip mussels with spicy mayo and tobiko

Recommended pairing

- 2005 Parri Estate Rose

Pale ruby red color, strawberry sorbet and raspberry aromas soft, sweet fruit, some spice and a clean, dry finish.

$30 per person includes wine, food and materials

Be Respectful. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Although the old saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all," is swell, we encourage constructive feedback (ie, be polite), and recommend backing-up your comments with evidence/witnesses.

We don't recommend complaining just for the sake of it (see number 1), but if you have a legitimate comment, it should be shared. Also, don't hesitate to disagree with other comments, even if your opinion is in the minority. If patrons aren't honest about their experiences, restaurants won't know that there is room for improvement. And there always is.

Be Specific. "The food was good" doesn't cut it.

Each dining experience is unique, so if a dining experience moves you in any way, by all means, share the details. Choose the sensory details that impacted your experience the most and describe them in your postings. Other foodies will gobble it up—literally.

Be Concise. 'Nuf said.

Be Helpful. Sort of like how the elves and reindeer help Santa.

Will what you have to say improve the restaurant's ability to provide impeccable service and improve the dining experience for others (again, see number 1)? If so... help away.
