West Chester Restaurants Yum!

Bonefish Grill

dscf9148.jpgDon’t let the fact that this is a chain restaurant turn you off, cause it’s really good. Fresh seafood prepared how you want it with your choice of tasty seasonings. Basically, everything on the menu is delicious. A perfect spot in Exton to meet up for cocktails, crowd pleasing food and an overall sea-tastic dinner and good time.

WC Dish recommends: Bang Bang Shrimp are bang-a-licious. All the cocktails are yummy, Mahi Mahi ….mmmm. Oh yeah, and the creme brulee.

Went last evening with my husband and was excited having heard such great reviews of the place. My mother, who is a great cook herself even said it was well worth it.

We went late, about 8:30, not having a reservation, we ate in the bar area and the place was packed. I have to tell you, my husband and I are far from “food-snobs”, but we were really bummed out with our meal and the service. I know it is considered a “chain” restaurant but we expected better. The sea bass platter was such a let down. Thin cut, overcooked and greasy. The side of veggies did not impress AT ALL and the squash was plated from an ice cream scoop. The taste and presentation, this place is right up there with a TGI Fridays or Chilis…yuck! At $23 bucks too! I expected so much more. Not to mention they killed my husbands filet, ordered med-rare. Highlight was we had a gift certificate … the Bonefish Martini was great and their specialty drink menu is classy and creative. Sad to say we won’t be going there again.

Took my wife here last night for our first “date” (translation: no baby) since the birth of our daughter 2 months ago. We got there around 5:30, so I wasn’t too surprised that there was a half-hour wait. The hostesses were extremely friendly and even took drink orders from the people waiting for their tables.

After we got to our table, the waitress went over the menu with us and brought out some warm bread, and then surprised us by making some fresh pesto on our table. I ordered the grilled shrimp and scallops with mango salsa, my wife ordered the grilled tilapia. We were both pretty impressed with both the food and our waitress.

My one small complaint is it IS pretty noisy. I’m not sure I’d recommend Bonefish for a first date or an intimate night out, however it’s ideal for groups of 4 or more when you can’t focus on one conversation anyway.

We both really enjoyed our evening and will definitely be back one day!

The Bonefish is a fantastic restaurant. Not only is there a lot of variety on the menu, but the atmosphere and service is excellent! I recommend the bang-bang shrimp appetizer. I get it every time I go there.

Bonefish is the best resturant in Chester County. The food is always good and the service is great. The bar staff is always friendly, especially Kara, Chris, Matt, Kyle and Racheal. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The best part is that it is smoke free.

Have to say that the food has always been good. Drinks are large and well made. Service is good if perhaps a bit too attentive. I like sitting in the bar booths or even eating at the bar.

Bonefish is an absolutely fantastic restaurant. The atmosphere is great and the food is even better. My fiancee and I love it so much that he actually proposed to me over bang-bang shrimp. The staff saw what was happening and brought us out complimentary champagne. Bonefish is by far my favorite dining choice in all of Chester County.

My wife and I have been dining weekly at Bonefish for more than two years. Service is excellent as is the food. My favorite is the Atlantic salmon with the Mediterranean sauce on the side, served with steamed vegetables (no butter). Our favorite server is Monica — she’s a sweetheart!

I went to Bonefish Grill several months ago with three girlfriends. The food was absolutely wonderful. My entree was one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had.

(Our only problem was with the waiter - he basically wouldn’t leave us alone - and we’re women of a certain age, not young hotties. I like attentive service, but I also like being left alone for more than two minutes at a time to enjoy my meal and talk with my fellow diners.)

Review Guidelines
Be Respectful. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Although the old saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all," is swell, we encourage constructive feedback (ie, be polite), and recommend backing-up your comments with evidence/witnesses.

Be Honest. Look where it got Abe Lincoln. Well, before the evening at the theater.

We don't recommend complaining just for the sake of it (see number 1), but if you have a legitimate comment, it should be shared. Also, don't hesitate to disagree with other comments, even if your opinion is in the minority. If patrons aren't honest about their experiences, restaurants won't know that there is room for improvement. And there always is.

Be Specific. "The food was good" doesn't cut it.

Each dining experience is unique, so if a dining experience moves you in any way, by all means, share the details. Choose the sensory details that impacted your experience the most and describe them in your postings. Other foodies will gobble it up—literally.

Be Concise. 'Nuf said.

What? We thought it was pretty clear the first time.

Be Helpful. Sort of like how the elves and reindeer help Santa.

Will what you have to say improve the restaurant's ability to provide impeccable service and improve the dining experience for others (again, see number 1)? If so... help away.

Show a Little Pride. No Jane or John Does please.

If you are too embarrassed to put your name as the commenter, you probably should re-evaluate your comments (you know the drill... see number 1). If you have sensitive information that you feel needs to be passed along, please use your best judgment and e-mail it to us to avoid public posting. We don't want you to have any post-post regrets.

Don't Name Names. Let's not get too personal here.

We know you want to share your experiences, both good and bad, but this isn't the place to publicly condemn or praise individual people. Feel free to comment on "the service", "the chef", or "the staff", but any positive or negative mention of specific names will be moderated.
