PHILADELPHIA, PA –  Fork, one of Philadelphia’s most popular restaurants, at 306 Market Street, will offer a series of exciting meals throughout the fall and winter season.

On Sunday, November 16, Fork will host Kim Sunee, author of Trail of Crumbs: Hunger, Love and the Search for Home, in collaboration with the Philadelphia First Person Arts Festival.  The $45 brunch will include meals prepared from recipes in Sunee’s food memoir. Sunee’s book details her odyssey from her birth in Korea to her adoption by a New Orleans family and the ten years she spent living, loving and eating across Europe.  Sunnee will read from her book and answer questions.

For wine lovers, New York Times best-selling author Ben Wallace will present a dinner titled “The Mystery of the Most Expensive Bottle of Wine: The Billionaire’s Vinegar” on Thursday, November 20.  For $99, guests will be treated to classic Bordeaux fare, including baked oysters, stuffed quail, grilled ribeye with sauce bordelaise and macaroons, paired with Bordeaux wines selected by Fork’s Wine Director Roberto Sella from Fork’s value-oriented but interesting wine list.

On Sunday, December 7, Fabrizia Lanza, instructor at her mother’s famed “Anna Tasca Lanza Cooking School” in Sicily, will host a $65, four-course Sicilian holiday dinner including Sicilian classics like Baccala with Saffron Potatoes, Black Risotto with Squid. Wines paired with the meal will come from the Regaleali winery, owned by the Lanza’s family.

Guests who wish to host their own event will be delighted with the spectacular space and catering offered at Fork: etc. and Fork’s gorgeous private dining room.  Fork: etc. is available for holiday parties of 16 to 30 guests for a sit-down dinner, or up to 45 guests for a cocktail reception.  Fork’s private dining room can accommodate guests from 6 to 45.  Parties interested in reserving space should contact the restaurant directly.

For those looking for the perfect holiday gift, Forklore: Recipes and Tales from an American Bistro (Temple University Press; 2007), gives readers a look at the inner workings of the casual but sophisticated neighborhood bistro and bar that has delighted countless local, national and international visitors.
