Good for drinking, but the food is terrible. C’mon Dave!!

By the way, I’d like to know the true identities of Kildare and Doc MacGrogan. They aren’t somehow related to Mr. Starbuck, are they?

Calling Kildare’s an “Irish” restaurant is like calling Chuck E Cheese an “Italian” restaurant. What’s wrong with just having a good honest bar without all the Irish kitsch?

Brand new menu at Kildare’s is a delightful change to the old menu. Very pub oriented, reasonably priced and some really great food in a great bar atmosphere.

Good for partying, bad for eating.

My wife and I have been coming here for the past few years. It’s always a great experience with something for everyone. Nobody pours a better pint of Guinness.

I tried the Guinness Beef Stew for the first time the other day…absolutely UNBELIEVABLE! I know it will taste even better when it gets colder outside.

Why oh why did they close The Bar and The Restaurant to open this place? Why do they have partitions at the bar. You might as well be by yourself even when it’s crowded. Not someplace grown ups go.

This summer, I had lunch at Kildares and was impressed by heir tuna sandwich. This was not chopped up tuna fish, but a big hunk of tuna steak in a wrap. Very tasty and a good value!

Lunching al fresco at Kildare’s can be hot - there’s not as much shade as across the street at Iron Hill!

Kildare’s is also the place in town for a Blacksmith - half Guiness/half Smithwicks!!!

The first time I went to Kildare’s it was for brunch with the family it was wonderful warm irish soda bread was eaten right up with the yummy honey butter it was served with. Bangers was a hit. Omlettes were done and stuffed just right. The service was freshed face all smiles and prompt. There’s lots to look at with the decor my kids loved the table and chairs made from the tree - they called it the Lord of The Rings Table.

However, a lunch visit left something to be desired of the kitchen the food was good when it finally got to our table over an hour later - we had reservations for 11:30 - there’s no way it should’ve taken that long.

Review Guidelines
Be Respectful. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Although the old saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all," is swell, we encourage constructive feedback (ie, be polite), and recommend backing-up your comments with evidence/witnesses.

Be Honest. Look where it got Abe Lincoln. Well, before the evening at the theater.

We don't recommend complaining just for the sake of it (see number 1), but if you have a legitimate comment, it should be shared. Also, don't hesitate to disagree with other comments, even if your opinion is in the minority. If patrons aren't honest about their experiences, restaurants won't know that there is room for improvement. And there always is.

Be Specific. "The food was good" doesn't cut it.

Each dining experience is unique, so if a dining experience moves you in any way, by all means, share the details. Choose the sensory details that impacted your experience the most and describe them in your postings. Other foodies will gobble it up—literally.

Be Concise. 'Nuf said.

What? We thought it was pretty clear the first time.

Be Helpful. Sort of like how the elves and reindeer help Santa.

Will what you have to say improve the restaurant's ability to provide impeccable service and improve the dining experience for others (again, see number 1)? If so... help away.

Show a Little Pride. No Jane or John Does please.

If you are too embarrassed to put your name as the commenter, you probably should re-evaluate your comments (you know the drill... see number 1). If you have sensitive information that you feel needs to be passed along, please use your best judgment and e-mail it to us to avoid public posting. We don't want you to have any post-post regrets.

Don't Name Names. Let's not get too personal here.

We know you want to share your experiences, both good and bad, but this isn't the place to publicly condemn or praise individual people. Feel free to comment on "the service", "the chef", or "the staff", but any positive or negative mention of specific names will be moderated.
