Update 2: And here’s the link to the article: WC Dish” by Brian Fanelli

Update 1: the article is definitely coming out this Sunday. From this video, it sounds like we’re the big weekend news.

strawberry.jpgI normally don’t order strawberry ice cream, but for this occasion I thought that the bold pink scoops would be a fun contrast with one of my favorite green shirts. So, I held my double-scooped strawberry sweetness and sat outside of Sprazzo last (insanely hot) Friday with my laptop and a photographer from The Daily Local. Drivers and passengers zipped past the intersection of Market and Gay Streets as I did my best to manage the dripping cone and smile for the camera. I desperately struggled to keep the rosy drops from landing on my keyboard by awkwardly licking the cone as the photographer clicked away and adjusted the flashes. I knew it wasn’t working when the photographer put her camera down and said, “Mary, this isn’t working.” She continued with, “I feel like this is looking too risqu’e and I’m shooting inappropriate photographs.” And with that I was instantly mortified and immediately threw the cone away.

I swapped out the ice-cream cone for my favorite vanilla cupcake from Cupcake Gourmet, sold at Sprazzo, and I headed back outside with an iced tea for the photographer. The cupcake was certainly tasty and less messy, so I felt more comfortable chowing down on it in front of the camera. I have no clue which picture will be used for the article in an upcoming issue of the Daily Local, but I can’t wait to find out.

The night before I had met with Brian, a reporter from The Daily Local, and we had a great time discussing what is coming and going with food in West Chester. I am so curious to see what he ends up including in the piece. I never know what will come out of my mouth, so who knows what he actually quoted. We shall see.

The Final Dish: I apologize in advance for any inappropriate quotes, photos or comments that may be attributed to me in the newspaper article. Lets see which they pick, the sexy cone or classy cupcake photo?

Comment Guidelines
Be Respectful. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

Although the old saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all," is swell, we encourage constructive feedback (ie, be polite), and recommend backing-up your comments with evidence/witnesses.

Be Honest. Look where it got Abe Lincoln. Well, before the evening at the theater.

We don't recommend complaining just for the sake of it (see number 1), but if you have a legitimate comment, it should be shared. Also, don't hesitate to disagree with other comments, even if your opinion is in the minority. If patrons aren't honest about their experiences, restaurants won't know that there is room for improvement. And there always is.

Be Specific. "The food was good" doesn't cut it.

Each dining experience is unique, so if a dining experience moves you in any way, by all means, share the details. Choose the sensory details that impacted your experience the most and describe them in your postings. Other foodies will gobble it up—literally.

Be Concise. 'Nuf said.

What? We thought it was pretty clear the first time.

Be Helpful. Sort of like how the elves and reindeer help Santa.

Will what you have to say improve the restaurant's ability to provide impeccable service and improve the dining experience for others (again, see number 1)? If so... help away.

Show a Little Pride. No Jane or John Does please.

If you are too embarrassed to put your name as the commenter, you probably should re-evaluate your comments (you know the drill... see number 1). If you have sensitive information that you feel needs to be passed along, please use your best judgment and e-mail it to us to avoid public posting. We don't want you to have any post-post regrets.

Don't Name Names. Let's not get too personal here.

We know you want to share your experiences, both good and bad, but this isn't the place to publicly condemn or praise individual people. Feel free to comment on "the service", "the chef", or "the staff", but any positive or negative mention of specific names will be moderated.
